学院共有教师56人，其中教授10人、副教授16人、讲师24人，博士学位20人。台湾发展研究院、大中华康复发展研究院院长李信达教授和上海交通大学博士生导师王金武教授为名誉院长。德国神经康复协会主席Thomas Mokrusch教授、美国北卡罗莱大学Rune J. Simeonsson教授、康复国际总执行委员及社会委员会全球副主席郭键勋、原国家康复辅具研究中心总工程师张晓玉教授等国内外康复领域知名专家为特聘专家。
The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine was founded in 2010. It was renamed the School of Rehabilitation Medicine in 2018. At present, the School is authorized to award master's degree to the students majoring in rehabilitation medicine and physiotherapy. The school has three undergraduate programs of rehabilitation therapy, sports rehabilitation and Optometry. Weifang Medical University is the earliest university to offer undergraduate program of sports rehabilitation in Shandong Province.
There are 56 staff members, including 10 professors and 16 associate professors, 11 of whom have got the doctor’s degree. The school has two honorary deans,Professor Li Xinda, Director of both the China Institute of Rehabilitation and Taiwan Development Research Institute, and Professor Wang Jinwu, Ph.D. supervisor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Many well-known experts in the field of rehabilitation at home and abroad are specially invited as distinguished professors, such as Professor Rune J. Simeonsson, a professor in University of North Carolina, USA, also one of the experts of WHO ICF-CY working Group.
Weifang Medical University is one of the earliest members of Shandong Medical and Health Association, and a member of the China Rehabilitation Medical Association, Shanghai Rehabilitation Alliance, and National Union of Cooperative Development of Rehabilitation. The School of Rehabilitation Medicine has signed a framework agreement on cooperation in rehabilitation education with Taiwan Development Research Institute. The rehabilitation medical training center covers an area of 3000 square meters, with advanced teaching equipment for rehabilitation diagnosis and treatment, and 26 laboratories and large rehabilitation training halls. The School has established ICF Institute, Rehabilitation Health Institute, Rehabilitation Engineering Institute and Intelligent Rehabilitation Institute, and the first Chinese Medical Exhibition Center for limb deformity and disability.
The School attaches great importance to the development of teaching demonstration bases, which are well-known national generalized or specialized hospitals with excellent teaching conditions and outstanding teaching staffs and perfect discipline systems, including Beijing Rehabilitation Hospital, International Hospital of Peking University, Shanghai First Rehabilitation Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, and Shandong Provincial Hospital, etc. The School is undertaking key teaching research programs of the Medical Education Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, carrying out the training programs for rehabilitation therapy professionals based on the ICF theory, and initiating international certification for physical therapy and occupational therapy, and reforms of integrated teaching mode combined theories and practices.
The School actively meets the needs of the “Healthy China” strategy and serves regional economic and social development, with the concept of “Great Health, Great Rehabilitation” throughout the entire teaching process. The School is actively involved in foreign cooperation and exchanges, carrying out scientific research cooperations and student training programs in sports rehabilitation and geriatric rehabilitation with different organizations including University of Sydney in Australia, University of East Asia in Japan, Asia University in Taiwan, and Italian Football Association. Students have got excellent professional skills and high comprehensive ability, with the employment rate up to almost 100%, which has won unanimous praises from employers and all walks of life.
